S.A.T. 5749 "CODORNICES URGELL", was founded in 1985 by Mr José Solé Farran and his family. It was born with the idea of breeding quails and sacrificing them in a small abattoir. The Company currently breeds quail, chucker partridge and pheasant for the refrigerated abattoir URGEL GANADERA, S.A. Within the context of breeding, one of the company's most successful activities was when it started up a genetic line dedicated exclusively to wild quails for shooting ranges and for the repopulation of game preserves. The work carried out was laborious, until we finally reached a perfect wild genetic line. The company has also dedicated a great deal of effort within the game line to the breeding of red partridge.

We have now achieved a high level of genetics, which will provide great results in this field, and the repopulation of the red partridge is an outstanding success. S.A.T. 5749 "CODORNICES URGELL" has a modern incubation plant in order to guarantee, right from the start, perfect production and excellent health in the chicken. Moreover, the company has completely renewed all its feeding facilities, which are now computerised throughout.
